Crystal Skylights and Solar Lighting, 5-Year Warranty
At Crystal Skylights and Solarlighting our installations meet and exceed manufacturers'
recommendations and Michigan building codes. We are so confident in the quality of our
workmanship, that we offer a five year installation warranty. This is four years longer than Michigan
building code requires and other licensed Michigan Builders provide.
As you will see we warranty a
particular radius around our work. Obviously, we can not warranty the entire roof. This radius was
chosen because it is an area larger than we disturb as we install. And we want you to be as confident as
us that water is not going to penetrate your roof due to our installation.
The following radii under warranty are only available for installations on a roof pitch greater
than 4:12 and roofs with an asphalt based shingle. Our 5 year warranty is available for installations
less than 4:12, or with an alternative roofing material, but is situationally dependent, and will be agreed
upon separately in writing prior to commencement of work.
So long as CSS is immediately notified, for a period of 5 years from the completion date of
installation CSS warrants to the homeowner our installations against water leakage originating on a
continuous plane within a 2 ft. radius of the sides and sill and 3 ft. radius from the head of the skylight,
roof window, or solar attic fan; and a 1 ft. radius from the circumference of a tubular skylight. We will
repair and replace any faulty materials within the pending radius, as well as repair any resulting
damage to the interior ceiling at no cost. This warranty does not apply if the exterior roofing and
flashing is disturbed or damaged within the 5 years. Roof damage or disturbance includes, but is not
limited to: Acts of God, subsequent contractors, vandalism, or the homeowner. However, the
homeowner has the option to renew our 5 year warranty if CSS is contracted to repair or update any
disturbance or damage. This warranty is 100% transferable to subsequent homeowners.

CSS is not responsible for any furniture or property left below the area of installation. Upon request and understanding of homeowner responsibility we will help move any furniture or property prior to commencement of work. This service may incur additional charges.
